I have sent along General Dierk Walter`s proposal that maneuver and battle points be the same eccept for the win/loss differential.

I like the current system. It keeps a friendly adversarial air about the club. I think one reason that opponents may be hard to come by is that a lot of members are anxious to fight large scenarios and campaigns with the HPS games. A lot of guys aren't crazy about the HPS engine or don't have time for large games. I am finding a lot more enjoyment lately playing shorter scenarios that don't ask for a commitment of several months.

General Bangma-I agree that HPS Campaigns have changed the dynamics of finding opponents and I suppose a whole lot else, Another thread perhaps?[;)]

After reading this post, I wondered why you were still a Field Lieutenant. I checked the Department of Records and see that you are currently a Lt. Col.!

To answer your questions, though, from the latest issue of the Signal Corps Report, recruits are flocking to the honorable Southern banner in larger numbers than they are to the oppresive . . . (oops, forgot where I was there for a moment), er, I mean, there does appear to be an imbalance.

Without getting TOO much into politics, I rather suspect most people who are interested in the Civil War have at least an initial tendency to 'root for the underdogs'.

As for what constitutes an 'active' member, that all depends on whose definition you're using.

I prefer to keep it as is. It aids in the role playing spirit in this club that makes it unique. For example, in the Blitz I'm in the US army (PZC), but there's no sense of role playing there at all. It's still fun, just missing that component. I'd hate to see that diminished.

My vote is for keeping the actual system of OBP.

Manoeuvers are a great way to try various tactics and strategy with other officers on your side. Giving 50% of the points is fair.

Allowing the players to get to full points award for manoeuver may have a decreasing effect on the "rivalry" between the Yankees and the Confederates.

After all, the destruction of the Union army led by a real Union officer is priceless. [:p][:D][:p][:D][:p]
