Post subject: When to attack on day 2
PostPosted: Sat Oct 08, 2005 8:50 pm
G'day,

I'm currently in a full battle of Gettysburg with a mate (I'm Rebs), and I've decided to throw everything I've got at him at dawn on Day 2. So far it's working, he's about to buckle between Cemetary Hill and Culps hill. His line is a bit thin in this area, and he's got units in the woods near Wolf hill, and down to the angle. I've just broght up a heap of artillery, but its been out of the fight till now really. I didn't set up well at night (too far away to be useful).

My big fear is I'll get him to break in the middle, but I'll have spent my forces, and not be able to hold on through the counter attack.

I'd just like to hear some ideas about the timing of attacks for REBS on day two.

You might want to go over to Southern Raider's Forum and post this question since we can get into more specifics without the Yankees reading your dispatches.[:D] I have a early morning of the second day attack going against my brother with good success but still not far enough along to see if that success will last once the V and II Corps come on the field. The draw back of the second day is the Yankee's get major reinforcements on both flanks early in the morning which usually stop if not reverse any loses they have suffered.
