OK.. installed BGN, applied all the gory patches, made sure my game master CD was in the correct drive ( the same one BGN was installed on ) and tried to open BGN with out the install CD ion the drive.

Get a message saying to put the install cd in a totally different drive that were I installed it from.

I recall that there is a place in the registry to fix this..

can someone point me to it please

The .ini files are in the Windows main directory. If memory serves, open those in notepad and there's a "CD=#" line to tell it which drive to look in.

John,

If you have XP it might show up as a configuration file. Best way to find it is search for bgn.ini. Go to Start, Search, File and Folders and put bgn.ini in the name block and your HDD letter in the Search In box and it should find it for you. Then double click on it with the mouse and it should open in notepad. One of the lines should say cdrom=#, change the number to change the cdrom letter, not sure how they're set up. Mine shows a 4 and my cdrom is drive E so take it from there.

[Install]
sounds=D:\BGN\
videos=D:\BGN\
cdrom=3
[Options]
rules=3540
intro=0
prompt=1
beep=1
blink=1
smooth=1
sound=0
music=0
video=0
icons=1
faces=1
outlines=1
save=1
initial=1
last=0
auto=1
complete=1
highlight=0
encrypt=1
*******************************
The only portion that you should need to change is the part between [Install] and [Options]

The 3rd line should be the same as the other two lines referencing the drive. In my case it is drive "D". The line CDROM=3 refers to Drive "D"; a 4 refers to Drive "e", etc.
