We would just like to extend the invitation once again......

In the past several weeks alot of planning has taken place and our weekend has actually taken form. We have attain several northern dancers who have agreed to entertain us to of course, the dancing style of the 1860's era. This of course is not the southern style of dancing that I prefer, but never the less, we could not beat the price. We have also attain several tavern keepers that has agreed to keep the juices flowing as long as the stories are not too far out there......And the food, the food is for the asking.....Music.....the music will feel the streets well into the morning.....The educational value is priceless and the friendship....need I say more......Wanna come met us guys?

Five club members and a spouse just got back from meeting at Shiloh this weekend and as always, meeting fellow club members is well worthwhile. Dave Danner put the Shiloh trip together for us and we had a great time. The weather was perfect, a Park Guide took us around the battlefield all day, there was never a problem in keeping conversation going (club members have a lot to talk about), and fun was had by all.

Don't be a stick in the mud, if you can make it to Gettysburg and join this group, don't miss out. You don't get these opportunities often enough. Any stranger that you meet won't be a stranger for long.

Hey Notso.....

Well I guess it's just us five. If I had the room we could all stay at my house.....I'll get back with you next week and give you some recommendations on rooms. By the way, I just might bring my sleeping bag and cot and also spend the night.....

Talk to you later....

Russ, you can tell the guys that you have had practice sleeping on the floor! As you were kind enough to allow me the use of your bedroom during my visit last March! I would love to join you guys in August as it can only be so special when a group of us visit such historic sites! I will be thinking about my time there when you guys go!

Respectfully,

I can't get off work that weekend as someone else had already made plans. But I'm in driving distance so I can easily show up after work Saturday and possibly Fri evening. Fri I wouldn't get there till 6pm or so, work Sat 5am till 1pm and could be there around 3pm. Off Sun... BvB/Scott

While I can't quite commit yet, have to juggle a few more things, I am going to try and make the trek from way up here in Seattle Washington to stay the weekend with y'all. Airfare is a bit steep at $384, but maybe I'll hit the lottery between now and then...[:D]

Should know in a week or so one way or the other, I hope!

Jeff,

You will definitely win the prize for the "longest traveled". There may be ways too help offset some of your costs. You decide and then we can talk....No, that didn't sound right. What I meant to say, you may wish to stay a day or so longer and see Sharpsburg and Harpers Ferry. I'm sure we can find free lodging for you for a night or so.....

This is so exciting....Just to meet members and talk about the war, battlefield, gaming and life in general is priceless....Total count including family and friends is about 16 so far....

Everyone will want to do their own thing but we should plan an event where everyone can meet and talk....maybe Picketts Buffet on Saturday Night for sure......Thoughts?

Dear Captain,

I wish to thank-you for taking the lead.

My only recommendation would be perhaps we meet in the lobby or bar/lounge area of the Holiday Inn instead of your room, no one wishes to see your socks.....

I agree, Colonel.

If I go to his room and find something unbecoming, like a moose
lounging around red long johns, I'll be forced to reduce him to
a rank in which he's apparently attempting to become senior.
