It is a fact that scenes depicting the Battle of Antietam were filmed, but they did not make "the final cut." Many people are waiting for the ultimate "Director's Cut" of the film, hoping to see both those scenes and many others (such as those with John Wilkes Booth) . . . Sad to say however, no reliable news on the release of an expanded version has been forthcoming. The scuttlbutt to date is that no one is willing to put up the money. If you look somewhere way back on this forum I did leave a link with the missing Antietam scene.
