Dusted off my copy of it on my shelves, to take a closer look at it. Sort of bypassed it when I got into Napoleonics around the time I picked this up.

Anyone every read it?? Joe Meyer, you happen on it at all??

It's about the AotP's artillery arm over the course of the War.

Artillery is a often forgotten & overlooked arm in a lot of history & there isn't a lot to pick from to read per say. Not a lot of source material either often, except for the OR. I bought it some 11 years ago or so and Volume 1 of "The Long Arm of Lee", by Jennings Cropper Wise, the preeminent book on the ANV's artillery. Tonight I got around to picking up Volume 2....lol....a long pause, to say the least.

Also picked up Union Artillerist's John Tidball's memoir.

Will pick up Porter Alexander's memoir eventually and there is a book on Hunt too, that goes some years back. Doesn't seem Hunt left much behind sadly.

Not to worry, Scott! It might take me three or four years to reply to a posting, but yes I've a copy of Naisawald's excellent book. I picked it up some time back as a member of the History Book Club. I'll have to pull it down for a re-read, but I recall it to be most informative.

Haha, thanks Joe! I forgot I mentioned you by name in this post.

It is a good read and I'll have to revisit it too again sometime.
