Post subject:  William Tecumseh Sherman: In The Service of My Country

This was the first full length bio I finished on Sherman. In my opinion, it covers his life well, from his upbringing in Ohio, to his enrollment in West Point to his failed business attempts, his Civil War career, and his time as General Of The Army after the war.
It mixes a lot of his personal correspondence with human intrest stories and personal experiences from people who.were intimately connected to the General.
It is definitely worth a read...or a listen in this case.

I found his autobiography to be very good. Didn't know that he was present in San Francisco when word of
Sutter's gold strike came in.
