Let's try to make it easier and use multiple choice:

a - Was the first soldier killed in the ACW.

b - Was a member of the group that stole the train The General but he escaped with the money and lived happily ever after in South America.

Although there is some debate on this subject, the claim of last killed has some merit, and is what he is best known for, and as far as I know, the only thing he known for.
