When developing Overland, and trying to find a way to support a long-term scenario with the existing engine, I was told, but no documentation was ever presented, that some reinforcements are provided in long scenarios. How long was long? Don't know, but rumor had it that such reinforcements would be provided. Another topic, same as XFOW, where the facts were not really known.
Anybody ever heard tell?

Do you mean reinforcements, as in units newly arriving on map? Or replacements, as in added men for existing on map units?

If it was the latter, they might have been talking about the campaigns. I think a percentage of casualties from the previous battle is replaced for each following scenario.

Actually yes, replacements. Mike heard the same rumor I heard, but I've never seen any sign of it happening.
You?

Maybe there was the idea of adding the "Unit Loss Recovery" or the "Replacements" functions that the Panzer Campaign engine provides to the Civil War engine.
But I guess like most ideas it just didn't make it because almost no scenario would need this function as they are battle scenarios.
AFAIK the huge overland scenario that is depicting a complete campaign in a single scenario is the first of its kind.

Personally I hope we see more of these, my current opponent just mentioned that he hopes Bermuda Hundred is in the upcoming Petersburg game and I replied that I hope for a big scenario that covers the complete campaign of Bermuda Hundred.

Overall it would be a nice addition if both, the "Unit Loss Recovery" and the "Replacements" functions, are added to the CW engine.
