I have the unfortunate duty (well not that unfortunate) to inform you people up north that JEB Stuart captured the Easter Bunny yesterday, it has also come to light that the bunny was shot during a botched escape attempt. The wild mobs of bereaved rug rats, aka ankle biters, aka kids will now be causing untold damage to the failing Union cause, which is most fortunate.

On an entirely different matter, do any club members have any good rabbit recipes?

Hi, General,

One Mr E. Fudd had a recipe he was dying to try but I don't think he ever did. Wonder whatever happened to that guy.

The Easter Bunny's loss is of no great consequence to the Union war effort. It is true that in prior years he had served as something of a moral booster for the folks at home; but more recently he became a supporter of Dan Sickles' political career and fell prey to the wild drinking parties in Washington. Rumor had it that Peter seemed overly attentive to Mrs. Sickle's comings and goings. It was reported by the Sarasota Weekly last year that when he came through that New York community his eggs had a dingy, gray color and that his candies were mold ridden. Shortly afterwards Sickles disavowed any affiliation with the bunny, claiming that there was room in his campaign for only one drinker!

There is no accounting for such debacles and the unexpected consequences that follow them. It is said that some of our Union armies have adopted a jaunty, new marching tune sarcastically commemorating the bunny's fall, Here Comes Peter Soddentail.

Cam, no worries. An old Rebel medic told me that there is a special "Pet Cemetery" just outside of Petersburg that should fix everything. If you hurry, you still have time to get him in the ground before Sunday and all will be good again. ;o)

Remember, once he's back up-&-kicking again, don't eat the jellybeans he leaves laying around....those aren't jellybeans. :)

Yeah, I liked the part where Yosemite Sam by his lonesome has a bunch of yankees cowering in their bombproof. That's one tough dude!
