After reviewing all of the different scenarios and the current Campaign series, what would still be needed or desired? As we have the ability to create our own maps, scenarios, .oob, .pdt and graphics files what would still be needed or desired to complete the CWB series? As a pool of enthusiast I think we could easily create some missing or desired scenarios to satisfy our club. If a full Campaign series is still needed, there would be plenty of manpower to assist JTS to create another or final release. Maybe with that we could also get some long desire program updates with its release :P

Regarding maps, are the old BG/Matrix style maps more desired or the HPS/JTS populated maps more desired?

Should the maps scale be changed to larger or smaller unit formations? i.e. ...Unit/hex limit to 3,000 men or 500 men? Map scale x yrds per hex?

What would be our desire to create more options to our current game chest of Campaign games and scenarios?

Maps are going to be the issue, unless you are meaning using submaps of already published maps.

Hi Steve,

Currently I have no trouble creating maps for the games (Matrix, HPS or JTS). I'm able to create or convert the maps across the platforms.

Only real stickler here is the time to create a new map. That can be an intense project; but doable.

I take that to mean that these would be done outside of anything to do with JTS, in which case there isn't going to be anything that I am going to get involved with.

Steve, these can also be done with the approval of JTS. We first need to see what demand or request there are and present it to JTS. If we help JTS develop projects I would imagine that things would move a lot faster. As the JTS team is focusing on other products and can't afford the manpower to the CWB series maybe we can bridge the gap? We have the ability, so why not see and present it?

Did you get the message I sent you?

Well what always comes up as missing are the two Shenandoah campaigns.
Besides that there is all the stuff left of the Mississippi that is not covered by Campaign Ozark.
And all the stuff that takes place between the existing games. Usually this is regarded as too unbalanced/small/etc. to be worth the trouble of creating them, an example is Shermans march to the sea were we would see many very small battles.

I have designed a couple scenarios and would love to do more their are so many what ifs that they left out like what if Longstreet did not take a detour on the second day of Gettysburg and attacked a couple hours earlier, and many more. I for one wish the game designers would be open to hearing our suggestions and doing a few modifications to the scenario editor. I would love to help volunteer my time to work on new designs of new games and scenarios.

Great idea! Brice's Crossroads would be a good sample to work with.

Under which current HPS game should it be built? Atlanta, Vicksburg, Chickamauga, or Franklin?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of ... Crossroads

Date:June 10, 1864
Location:Near Baldwyn, Mississippi

Commanders and leaders
Confederate States of America: Nathan Forrest
United States: Samuel Sturgis

Strength:
CSA:3,500 cavalry
USA: 4,800 infantry, 3,300 cavalry & 22 guns

I'll start doing some research.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Tupelo

Date:July 14–15, 1864

Location:Near Tupelo, Mississippi

Commanders and leaders
United States:Andrew Smith
Confederate States of America:Stephen Lee, Nathan Forrest

Units involved
Right Wing, XVI Army Corps
Forrest's Cavalry Corps

Strength:
USA:13,000 infantry, 3,000 cavalry & 24 guns
CSA: 2,100 infantry, 7,000 cavalry & 20 guns

OK, cast has been set. These two scenarios will be made from the Atlanta Campaign series. I've started collecting the OOB and map data. There will be unique .pdt settings for the Brice's Crossroads to reflect the rains and bad road conditions. In addition the low ammo rate percent will increase to represent the low supply of Sturgis's troops. Should be interesting.

Anyone interesting in helping organize the OOB's files? The Civilwar.com site seems to have the best breakdown of the forces for those battles.

I'll also start working the maps as those will probably take the longest.
