Does anyone know if Matrix Games / HPS Simulations / John Tiller Software will help out with lost installation files for purchased games? I tried to save several off to CDs for later use, but have had recent problems reading CDs like that on my laptop (Windows 7 issue, most likely), and was hoping to just reacquire the original installation files and then email them to myself (that way, I would always have them unless I deleted the message from my email inbox). Just curious if any of those places could look up the purchase info to verify purchase and would willingly replace the installation file, or if I would have to repurchase the games.

David,

You'll want to email or use each of the support systems for each company:

HPS Support - support@hpssims.com

JTS Support - http://johntillersoftware.com/Support.php

AGEOD Support - http://www.ageod-forum.com/

Matrix Support - http://www.matrixgames.com/support/

If you bought an AGEOD game from Matrix, you'll want to email Matrix and not AGEOD. Same for HPS/JTS, go to where you bought the game from.

Also if I may suggest, use a jump drive (thumb drive) to store your backups. I use them all the time. Used to do CD's too, but jump drive is a lot easier and you just plug into your USB slot. Less critical failure and read issues with them. You can get them pretty much anywhere and get a good size amount of gigabytes for not a heck of a lot of money. :) SanDisk is my personal favorite brand.
