Officers of the Club,

I am pleased to announce that the Club Staff has seen fit to award a Outstanding Service Medal for continuous, reliable service (usually at least one year) in a more responsible staff or command position, or continuous outstanding contributions to the club life, or continuous outstanding battlefield exploits, or any other outstanding service short of the one required for the Orders of the Bath, Franklin, Washington, Lafayette, and Tecumseh. Awarded only once.

To Brigadier General Joseph Alberti, DSM

of

General Officer Commanding of the Right Wing (Royal North American Corps)
His Most Britannic Majesty's British Armies in America

also

Commander of the 40th (2nd Somersetshire) Regiment of Foot "The Excellers"
1st (English) Brigade
Right Wing (Royal North American Corps)
His Most Britannic Majesty's British Armies in America

He is now styled as Brigadier General Joseph Alberti, OSM

Joe's record of 60+ games goes back to 2002. He is a staple name in all the various clubs that have been apart of wargame.ch over they years, including defunct ones now. He is often found serving in staff positions and doing admin work. Here is no exception. Joe has been the General Officer Commanding of the Right Wing (Royal North American Corps) since before my tenure as the British CiC. He served under the last two CiC's before me, Steve Jones & Dierk Walter. Joe also, until recently, ran the webpage for his Wing. Due to time issues I took it over for him, but still am glad to have Joe in charge of the Wing. He ran great websites by the way. He is always available to help as time allows and has added some good input to the British Army over the years. Though he is very busy these days, he still makes time for the Club. I am glad he is with us, he's a good guy to have around.

Please join me in raising a glass to thanking Joe for his years of service!

My deepest thanks for the honor and the kind words about my service. I appreciate it a great deal!

I have been in this club for a long time and have always enjoyed the experience. This is a special club and group of people. It has great team spirit, an active core of players, and lacks the rancor and personal strife that has hurt or destroyed other clubs. This sets it apart.

I accept this with deep honor and pride. Mostly because I have been recognized by the club leadership who I respect deeply. I appreciate all their service to the club.

All this makes me want to get on the field again and tear up some Frenchman, Colonial Rebels, and savage Indians!

Joe,

Thanks for your kind words. We do it for the members and we try to set the tone focused on games & fun, keeping things simple. We might not have all the bells & whistles that other venues have, but our style has worked for a very long time, why change what works. :)

I am glad you are with us and look forwarding to see you on the field for King & Country! :D
