What are the most accepted and chosen optional rules for relatively balanced scenarios for 1776 these days? I recall a number of them were fairly standard back in the day. Any comments are appreciated.

Also, I don't recall what size monitor and resolution I used years ago for HPS games, but on my current 21 inch monitor at 1980x1080, the graphics are almost impossible to work with. Lower resolutions cause their own set of problems which don't help much, either the graphics are still so small, or the maps are highly distorted. Any suggestions please?

Thanks!

Maybe if/when another title is done in the series we can get the 2D Zoom feature added in...but that is a good ways down the road. I have a similar sized monitor and same resolution...with my reading glasses I have no issues... $5.00 at the drug store. ;-)
