So I just noticed, we are nearing our 5000th single player game to be registered between two people under our "SP" tracking number.

Garry uses several numbers to track things over the history of our Club, some are not used anymore, early tournament numbers, which are roughly 100 games, so we are technically at well past our 5000th game and there has been almost 70 MP games too. But the SP number, which is how we track two people single player games now is at 4972.

This is very exciting too! The Club is entering it's 15th year next year (Those who were here when it started, correct me if I am wrong), so we will have to do something next year to celebrate! :)

Game number 4000 was in registered 2008 and it was 1812: 165: Montreal_a and was a maneuver between Glyn Hargreaves & Armando Russo.

Not bad for a Club that has always had less than 200 members.... :D

I did not realize we were even close to that. That makes the average games played per year at 357.

I didn't either and I wish we had that average, some years are better than others, but the years of hundreds & hundreds of games are behind us now. If we break 200, we should be happy. We won't come close this year to that....been a slow year. Tourney's seem to help us a lot.....

Actually, I revise what I said.

We are at 245 game actions (new & end game forms) if you want to include the cancelled games we cleaned from the Game Archives. If you take those out, which account for 70 end game actions, it is 175 game actions overall.

Now compare that to last year, where we ran the Summer Tourney hot & heavy for a number of months, we had 172 new game actions alone and over 220 end game actions, including several cancelled for 392 total.

For 2012 & 2011 we also saw a lot higher gaming, but Jeff McDonald was running the Conquest of a Continent Tourney then too.

Not sure what the hiccup is this year, though just from a quick & dirty averaging of new games done this year versus last year, 93 new game actions this year so far versus 172 new game actions for all of last year, the average number of turns a game is about even. So it appears folks are playing longer games this year, which might account for the lesser number of game form actions.

Finally....when you look at the stats versus other Clubs, say the NWC, which is closest in size to us as of last year, usually has about twice as many members as we do. Last year 205 members for them versus our 90 members for us and when you take total number off game actions for 2013 for us & them, a single member there played an average of 3.65 games for the year and here a single member played an average of 4.35 games for the year.

This year I expect different results, as we have lower game actions taken and they will have drastically reduced membership.
