Gentlemen ...brother Officers.

I wish to salute you all, friend and foe alike, as I assume command of the 4th Dutch Light Dragoons and set myself to joining the fight against the forces of Napoleon.

I am a complete novice in Napoleonic war-gaming ...though I come to the fight a veteran of ACW battles through the ACWGC.

I hope to find new fields of victory amongst the fine members of this excellent club.

Once the wine is poured we can discuss the obligatory chiding that comes when a promising officer such as yourself, makes a disastrous career choice by failing to enlist in la Grande Armee and pursue la gloire whilst leading the eagles to victory.

Do not let the good French Marshall dissuade you from your chosen course. Rest assured that you have selected the proper career path. The only thing better than leading the French Eagles to glory is packing the ones you capture into wagons and transporting them back to the King's museums! :shock: :wink: :lol: 8)

I have been absent and therefore a belated welcome to a 'novice', welcome!
However the pure warfare of L'Emporoer and his Marshals will have you reeling in your seat I'm sure, soon to be scurrying back to your lines and cannons in the new world :mrgreen: .
But have fun while being savaged by the proponants of warfare that the new world failed to grasp 50 years on :wink:
