---we publish the original letter we received from the Prince of Orange this morning--

Dear Mr Rietveld and Mr Lucky,

I finally have a break between hostilities with our combined enemy, these miserable French. My staff adjutant arranged a good diner with an expensive wine from the French captured supply train and yes, with the light of my small lantern I am able to write you this letter.

The King and our Prince were pushing me quit some time to award you with something special and I proposed to send Helga. This was refused. Then I offered to send cheap wine and cigars from my own huge eh, small stock. But no, it was not good enough for the high commanders.

So, after a long discussion last night with various important staff ladies officers we decided that we should offer something really substantial.

You are hereby Mentioned in the Dispatches. This for leading 1st and 2nd corps and outstanding long term service.

Wear this piece of metal with pride; it came from a good heard…and a mighty army!

Greetings Sir, with honour and respect,
Willem of Orange

Miserable French indeed....

But, having seen the skill with which both of these gentlemen conduct a battle, I'll grudgingly raise my glass in salute.

Cheers!

Yes well done indeed. I'm on the receiving end of Jim at Leipzig at the moment and it's not a nice experience.
