Napoleonic Wargame Club (NWC)

I say this humorously and with a smile, if you really stop and think about it....

Here we are, generally all grown men, a good number probably middle aged, arguing worse than a college sorority house. It is so silly fighting over fake power in an imaginary place that no one will know existed 50 years from now. It is like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic and asking the band to play.....

Just some humor and maybe perspective....

I have been trying to say that - you just expressed it so much more succinctly.

However - what is wrong with asking the band to play on the Titanic? They got free passage and wages because they played a musical instrument - their contract did not end until it actually sank.

Pass the Scotch, it would be a sin to die sober.

I wanna start a betting pool with folks who are interested!

I wager my fake Legion of Honor Medal (that I have yet to earn) and my fake Prussian Black Eagle Medal that there are less than 130 members in the Club in 3-4 years.....

Well Scott at my age it wouldn't matter. But being a socialist I see a very conservative element with a lot of rules not only in the play but all these conservative rules that you might need to hold a booklet in your lap like I did in one of them MOE games to be sure your not breaking the rules.

less members...well perhaps not.

We in the AAA raised from 39 members in 2011, to 43 in 2012 and 55 in 2013. Several of our OOB units are completely full.

It all depends on the games really. If new games are published or the NWC take other games into account we could still grow. And then it only depends on good PR. That is lacking at the moment, unfortunately and that is something we have to work on in a much more structural way. I was trying to get that part in the club rules. To make PR a structural part of the club. But it was not accepted, of course.

If I only take a look at Lancier Hakan Hen just finding new members everywhere for his Histwar games....that's how it should work!

Unfortunately Mr Hakan is on the wrong side in this club
