In the first "cut" of the Leipzig OB I had the Army of Bohemia composed of wings. They were all using the Austrian NATION. Likewise the Army of Silesia units were all using the Prussian NATION. The Army of the North was using the Russian NATION.

This made it possible to have command control for Blucher, Schwarzenberg, Bernadotte for their respective armies. I think I may have left the Swedes in their own NATION counter color as they were not used much in the battle anyway.

Where this comes in handy is for the Army of Bohemia which is split up into national groups. For instance you have the 14th Division (RU) and the 10th Brigade (PR) together but they cannot attack together, stack together and their command control is dubious.

If my memory serves me right, Barclay was the wing commander for the Allied left. Can someone verify this?

Kleist commanded the Allied right. Wittgenstein the Allied center. The Reserves were released by Schwarzenberg as the situation dictated.

I would like to put an OB together for Leipzig along with scenarios that have the various armies using ONE NATION color again. This approach allowed the Allies to have better commmand control over their troops.

Selected scenarios would be copied and converted to use the new OB.

Good idea. It's a commonplace tactic for the allies to stick one coloured unit behind a different coloured unit, thus any unit losing a melee can't be pushed back.

And command and control is a nightmare as it currently stands with the Army of Bohemia.

I think Barclay commanded the center and the Czar controlled the Prussian and Russian reserves, with Schwarzenberg controlling the Austrian. The command and control WAS a nightmare on the southern portion of the battlefield...

Wittgenstein commanded the 1st and 2nd Corps. Barclay was over Wittgenstein .... but I think he also may have had command of the Prussian brigade that was near the 14th Div.

Likewise Klenau commanding the Prussians on his flank too ...

Nafziger's OB for the battle in his 3rd Vol. on the 1813 campaign does not reflect the operational situation well. For instance he has Kleist commanding the 2nd Corps which is correct but the corps was scattered all over the southern front.
