I think you have to buy the old Battleground games again from Matrix. They are compatible with Windows 10 I think. There is something on their website about getting it to work.

Yeah the Matrix Battleground series do work with Windows 10 but I found the disk wouldn't load so sent back the disks and I downloaded them instead which works very well and I have had no problems whatsoever.

Guillaume

You will find an abundance now of players who have this game version, I for one, have played several allied officers and none of the battles are boring and I have had many a fantastic game even though on many an occasion I have been well and truly beaten and I have never won a game yet. I will also say that of the JTS games I have, I have not played many but have still enjoyed the battles fully and no matter which game you prefer to play or have a particular lean towards, I can honestly say that you will never be short of an opponent and the guys who game here are in my honest opinion and yes I am biased, are among the best group of guys I could ever have the fortune of knowing no matter if some of them do fight on the wrong side.

To the NWC, it's sister clubs and to all those that make the club and gaming a fantastic experience.

Salute :frenchsalute:

Quite disappointed by matrix version. Far behind hps/Tiller new production. I didn't remember this gap.

Well, Guillaume, its been since 1996-98 that those games came out so you will find a major difference in how they play.

The big things about the older series are:

1. Defense phase allowed you to square up (if you passed your roll) or do a counter charge (again if you passed the roll)

2. Graphics were lovely. The map in particular. There is a 3D max zoom level too which I miss in the newer series.

Cons were:

1. More files to send ... six per turn

2. Skirmishers could gang up on formed units too easily and block their movement.

3. Obviously there are enhancements in the JTS games that have brought the series up a notch or two.

I miss the counter charge and squaring abilities.

I now am going to look at doing something to help protect my guns in the JTS series ... something that we have had in the series by update but I have not been using it much. Going to share this with the Allied officer ...

For Club Games: I prefer the Single Phase mode of play. I prefer to play with the following options OFF:

MDF, VP4LC, NRO, MTD, CMR, PR, MIM, NDM, OMR (ver 4.07)

AI gun in Leipzig are very strong when you set a big advantage. Impossible to take with skirmisher for example. I need 2 or 3 battalion each time

Glad to see all your posting Guillaume! :) I'm sorry I didn't clarify that the Matrix version was just a re-release of the old games from Talonsoft. I hope you had seen that on the site....
