I suppose when I refer to the Germans or Germanic States I naturally mean those nations or states that were part of the Confederation of the Rhine or/and we're under French rule and control. Prussia at this time I class as separate to these other states. As we all know alot of these German States fought for Napoleon throughout Europe and till his abdication in 1814 even though a few of these states defected to the Allies, probably to protect their country which in effect turned against them in 1815 as a lot of the states where parcelled off to various bigger super powers of the time.

Yeah when I mentioned the Rheinbund forces the obvious comes to mind Baden, Bavaria, Saxony, Westphalia, Württemberg, Hessen-Darmstadt etc.

The only things in the Prussian OOB that I'd ask not be considered are things like the Saxon Duchies, the different Anhalts, Schwarzburgs, Waldeck etc....the silly little College of Princes places that usually don't draw a lot of interest. The only others are Mecklenburg and Hessen-Kassel. But this all is pretty moot overall.

The few Portugal battalions, sure, go ahead and use them, the Spanish Joseph Bonaparte, that's cool too. Dutch can be debated, but that might be a bit more of an issue.

Basically what's in my mind is if the unit and it's associated icon are not similar, than it's not an issue. I plan to share the different icons sets I have with David etc.

So it's not any of the major ones, if that's your concern.....

Sounds promising.
As a little orientation regarding the the Rhine Confederation here some maps:

Based on the 1812 the Allied Coalition could decided what they would like to keep.

BTW I think you mentioned it already somewhere, the icons are from a game series?

Well per the info here under the member monarchies section the College of Kings is what is worth your time using. Baden, Bavaria etc, the key players in the Confederation, for Napoleon & the largest amount of forces.

The icons are from an old stash I have and can be somewhat located in downloads available online. I've got to compare them. But they are similar to what David & I use on our sites. I actually have most precut from when they were used in the former iNWC. We had an 1812 oob.

Of course this is all if the LAG decides to go this way, I can give you all what I have to make it easier.I don't have home PC access, but when able to, I'll gather up the stuff and send it along. :frenchhappy:

Well to be able to decide if we want to decide at all, some preliminary work would be helpful.
Some complete OOBs for 1812 would help to see what LGA looked like and if it's a good idea to change at all.
For now I only stumbled over Nafziger with an OOB from 1st August 1812:

Confed of the Rhine ...

Funny enough .. the Poles were a member of the CotR. As were the Saxons....

That sure is a long river!! :frenchlol:

I loved working on the Confed of the Rhine troops for Leipzig. By then it was a smaller contingent but still enjoyable.

Wurttemberg - 1 division + cav brigade
Baden - 1 brig + cav regt
Bavaria - some were with the army but a lot stayed home. Eventually they defected ...
Hesse - one division
Westphalians - had shrunk down from a corps to one division and some cavalry
Saxons ... two divisions and a great cavalry contingent
etc ....

Friend of mine painted some Wurttemberg 25mm miniatures long ago ... two friends of mine have tons of miniatures and one of them found a bunch of Swedish castings. ... enough to cover the entire OB for the Swedes for 1813! (our group disbanded and many of them just left their miniatures at my friend's place)

I shudder at ever working on a game project again that has 300+ images. But it was an education learning about all of those uniforms ;)
