Ok - pretty much finished with the game! A huge thanks to my Playtesters and especially Paco Palomo for helping out with this one.

I just finished correcting the huge campaign file - based on Paco's exhaustive review of the campaign file. I have to go through the campaign to be sure that the scenarios are "registering" correctly in the "Outcome" sections .. that is the name of the scenario shows up because the path to the scenario file is correct.

I can only say that this game has been enjoyable to work on and my favorite project in the series.

Some hints:

1. One of the names of the battles in this title rhymes with a famous garden in Europe.

2. This general was dismissed even though he performed admirably as army commander.

3. One of the armies underwent a change of uniforms during the campaigns.

4. One of the satellite French "allies" provided troops for service in the French army but only grudgingly.

5. A future French Marechal fought against members of his own family.

Ok .... enough for now ;)

Updated: Answers to above questions:

1. Rivoli (rhymes with Tivoli gardens)

2. Marshall Suvorov - sadly the Tsar discharged him and Suvorov died soon after having won one of his greatest campaigns.

3. Austria ... the infantry switched from the "casquette" to the helmet. Same for some of the cavalry. Different styles for the hussars and uhlans. Artillery headgear changed too.

4. Switzerland ... they actually supplied more troops to the Allies!

5. Massena... his family was part of the Kingdom of Sardinia but he took his allegiance with France and in Italy in 1796 he fought against his own family members (no, not hand to hand).

Gee, that was helpful. I started playtesting this one when there were only 3 scenarios and I do not know the answer to any of these questions.... :scottishduh:

Yes. I just sent the final files to Rich and John. Rich needs to look over the game over the weekend.

The only part I have left to play is to update any files where Rich or John may find errors.

Truly excited to get this one finished.

Note: Please do not contact Rich Hamilton about when the game will come out. I felt safe in commenting on it here. If it slips to next weekend or later just know its due out VERY soon, ok?

Bill,
Did General #2 win all the battles of the campaign?
I have a guess for #4 but any clue I give to my guess may give away the answer to the game....or not...

He did (#2). And he died shortly after the campaign was over too.

I posted the answers to the questions in the original post. You should be hearing something today about the new game. Tomorrow at the latest.
