Post subject:  Campaign Leipzig - 15 Min and Cavalry Regiment Scenarios

Guys - customer sent us feedback on the Campaign Leipzig scenarios that use cavalry regiments and 15 minute moves. However, there was some lack of understanding on the scenarios that use 10 min. moves AND cavalry regiments so I am going to post the types of PDT and Scenario files (once again) so folks understand.

Scenario File Types:

W Series - uses 10 minute moves AND cavalry regiments - example: w_M10-CR_006_Grossbeeren_HTH.scn

X Series - uses 15 minute moves AND cavalry regiments - example: x_M15-CR_020_Dresden_HTH.scn

Z Series - uses 15 minute moves and the usual squadron unit type for cavalry (not regiments) - example: z_M15-035_Katzbach_HTH.scn

Note: the reinforcement times were NOT converted for the 15 minute turn scenarios. If you have a spare month to give up let me know and we can convert them together! (kidding). Thus if the reinforcement group is supposed to enter on the 0810 turn it will instead show up on 0815.

PDT File Types:

This is easy ... in order to know what PDT file goes with each type just add the letter "z" in front of the letter code above. So:

ZW series goes with W Series scenarios

ZX for X Series scenarios

ZZ for Z Series scenarios

Note: the weather lines continue to use a 10 minute turn format. For the 15 minute turns PDT files there is no way I will ever have the time to convert them all. Many of them are multiday scenarios. Just too many lines to potentially cause errors with.

So if the turn is 0715 it will use the 0700 visibility. Not much I can do about it. Thus 0700 and 0715 will use 0700, 0730 and 0745 will use 0730 and 0800 would use 0800. So essentially only 3 of the 6 weather lines will be used.

Remember: all of these alternate turn length and regimental cavalry scenarios are pretty much "use at your own risk." We didnt have time to check them all out. I added them in as a courtesy to those that like the Waterloo/NRC format. You are free to copy the files and alter the values if you like (such as the weather lines, etc). Just make sure you are working with copies for the sake of problems that might arise later.

There are errors in these PDT files that I am working on now. This is what one customer reported:

x_M15-CR_006_Grossbeeren_HTH.scn
Despite using M15 in the filename the scenario uses an 10 minutes PDT

zw_CavR_Grossbeeren.pdt but there is already a scenario w_M10-CR_006_Grossbeeren_HTH.scn that uses 10 minutes, although the description doesn't mention any info about this being a 15 minute scenario I still guess that the wrong PDT was used and that one with 15 minutes was intended to be used and that the scenario is intended to be a 15 minute scenario.

(note: what they failed to consider is that the W Series is a 10 minute scenario - they dont work with 15 minute turns)

zx_CavR_Dresden.pdt
Although it uses 15 minutes turns it has movement values of a 10 minute turn, infantry has 16 and cavalry 21.
Likely it's redundant as it's identical with zx_M15_CavR_Dresden.pdt.

Note: yes .. this could be the case. I am checking into this today

zx_CavR_Leipzig_10-16_19.pdt
Despite M15 is missing in the filename the PDT uses 15 minutes per turn and although it uses 15 minutes turns it has movement values of a 10 minute turn, infantry has 16 and cavalry 21.
Seems to be only used by x_M15-CR_074_Leipzig_HTH.scn, as that is intended to be a 15 minute scenario I guess the movement rates are wrong and the filename on this PDT too.

Note: yes the PDT filename is incorrect - the values in it are incorrect. Just go with the letter code when in doubt. So "zx" is correct and just use that. I dont want to create more PDT Files than I have to.

zx_M15_CavR_Dresden.pdt
Although it uses 15 minutes turns it has movement values of a 10 minute turn, infantry has 16 and cavalry 21.
Seems t be only used by x_M15-CR_020_Dresden_HTH.scn, as that is intended to be a 15 minute scenario I guess the movement rates are wrong in this PDT.

------end of feedback-------

Note: again, correct and I am working on all of these today.
