The new game I am working on will feature five of the six NATIONs in the Napoleonic Battles series: France, Austria, British, Prussian and Russian. I cannot justify the Spanish army because not only are we now over 200 images total but I am also running out of time for building battles. To add in the Spanish would mean another 12 images at the least and I just cannot justify that amount of work for Joe Amoral.

For the French we have a wide assortment of the National Guard, Legions, Ligne infantry, Legere images. The hussars have an image for each regiment. The Black "Jemappes" Hussars are represented. (note: not to be confused with the black uniformed "Hussards de la Mort" complete with deathheads which really were not a good unit and are not listed in the battles I have been building)

The Emigre' units abound. Lots of them in the British and Austrian OBs. The Dutch Republic army of 1792-94 is represented with a lot of images representing anything from the regular Dutch line regiments to the German and Swiss units.

The Austrian hussars will have an image for each of the regiments. I also plan on putting out my own "mod" that will include ALL of the Austrian infantry and cavalry regiments having their own image (facing colors).

The Hanoverians were added in two weeks ago. I was able to find all of the images I needed or build a composite image for Joe to work from.

I also am adding in the Hesse-Kassel units (six) for the Battle of Tourcoing. Researching these H-K units has been rough. In the end I had to build a composite image for Joe to work with. Everyone has images of the Seven Years War or American Revolutionary War Hessians but very few will feature one for the French Rev Wars. The cutoff was 1789. The H-K images for after 1798 have differences as well.

The British Foot Regiments have several images as well. I believe there is a total of six images.

One thing about this game is the incredible amount of images found in almost each battle. If you are commanding the Austrian army in Germany you will have forces of the Conde's army. If the British you have the German allies and/or one or two of the "emigre'" units.

The Dutch have their foreign regiments. The French have their plethora of National Guard, Chasseur/Legere, line infantry images.

Its a real delight to playtest the game. The terrain varies from the rolling plains of the Danube Valley to the enclosed spaces of Belgium and northeastern France or Holland.

We are moving right along. A lot of folks have been asking me when the game will come out. All I can say is it wont be until at least the Fall. Hoping we can get all of the artwork finished by August at the latest but am ready to admit that it could take until September.

But the wait will be worth it :frenchcool1: :smug: :frenchhappy:

I always try my best to strike a good balance of accuracy vs. time to market.

Once I embark on a game title the clock is running because this is my livelihood.

If I had an official "patron" like some of the great composers I would spend more time on the games.

The longest I have taken on a game was Marengo only because I was semi-homeless in 2014. Lost almost 10 months that year on dev. work.

The quickest I produced a game was Campaign 1814. I did a bit of work on it in June-July of 2011 then had to shut down production to finish up the Austerlitz update and production on Leipzig but by December I was back at it.

By late April 2013 I was done with the game. Not bad - about 6 mos. total! Having the artwork finished sped up production.

Bautzen had materials already finished when I picked it up in May of 2013. Bautzen and Lutzen were done as were some of the small battles. I finished that one in seven months. A bit of new artwork needed for the Russo-Swedish War.

The RSW scenarios, maps and OBs were done in one month's time. Still shake my head at that one ....
