Some guys like Warren Bajan and Philippe Devine give us "mods" - I have done a few of those ... but what I would like to do is create an OB-Compendium for each of the games I have worked on using Dominik Derwinski's OB Editor.

This OB Compendium will be all of the OBs in the game in the "OB Report" format as seen in the OB Editor. I copy them to a spreadsheet and then add in Table of Contents linked to each OB page. A back link to the TOC allows the customer to navigate quickly back and forth through the document.

My first OB Compendium will be in the next title in the series we release. I will then move backwards through the titles starting with Campaign Marengo, Bautzen, 1814, Leipzig, Austerlitz, Jena, Wagram and finally Eckmuhl. Given time I plan on putting out my own Waterloo mod using Warren's OB with modifications to it. I will then do an OB Compedium for Waterloo. One for NRC would follow as well as for the Peninsular War series.

These documents are really nice. It allows the players to look through an easier to read version of the OB files and get to know the troops better. Spot an enemy unit on the map and want to know the formation composition? Just open the OB Compendium and search for that unit in the page for its OB. The document will be in PDF format - fully searchable.

Sounds great but also like a lot of work.

Its not really. All you have to do is open up the OB file using the OB Editor. Save a OB HTML Report. Open up the HTML file in a browser. Edit - Select All - Copy. Paste is into the spreadsheet. Modify size of text (again - Select All makes that easy). One OB takes less than a minute to process.

Eckmuhl doesn't have a lot of OB files. That will be easy to do. Same with Wagram and Jena. Austerlitz has more. Leipzig, 1814 and Bautzen a lot. Marengo has a lot. But all in all it will get done eventually. Its probably no more than 2 days worth of work.
