Guys - ok - all files for RBR are off to John Tiller who will build a "Pre-release software build" this week and more than likely the game will be ready to go by next weekend after we have reviewed it for errors. Got the last of the graphics files from Mark

A big thanks to all that helped from the playtesters to the graphics team to Rich H. and all here and on other forums or in email that contributed historical info (uniforms, OB, you name it).

This is definitely the best game I have developed yet. Along with Campaign Marengo I have enjoyed it the most. So much to learn and so many wonderful new units to command. And oh the "Eye Candy" too.

Review almost finished. We will check it out a bit tonight and tomorrow and then I will post the files to the server by 11am Pacific time. John Tiller will provide me with a newer build and I will spend the afternoon looking it over. We should have the game out for sale by Tuesday or Thursday at the latest. Rich H. has a heavy schedule over the weekend and wont be able to do his part on the website and other things he does until after Sunday.

So far a lot of things came up like:

1. Artillery unlimbered as reinforcements (3 scenarios)

2. No artillery ammo (4 campaign scenarios)

3. No victory levels (4 campaign scenarios)

4. I proofread the text of the "Battles of RBR" PDF today and made a lot of grammar and spelling corrections.

5. Special Scenario rules for "Bonus 006 - Save the King" now has a nice Victory chart.

6. Artwork issues were all sorted out. Updated files sent to John.

The list goes on but the amount of files is very small. I did an extensive check using Ultra Edit and found a few things.

All in all looking very good. Confident that we have caught the vast majority of the errors. I doubt that we will have the amount of errors that Marengo had. However, I will be posting a thread on the main forum for RBR that will be for any items that folks feel are errors. Later the thread can be moved to the specific game forum area.

Lets roll!

There are changes in the engine?

I never know all of the changes that will be in the Main Program or editors as sometimes things get added in at the end. Once the game is out ask me the same question and I might have a better idea of what is new. There is a section in the product page for the website that lists those. I would suggest when the game is released to check that out.

One thing I DO know that has changed is this:

1. Previously we could only have up to 120 minutes for a night turn. Now that limit has been lifted. A PDT file can now have 4 hour night turns if you so desire. I did that in a Bonus scenario called "Island Warfare" which has day turns that are much longer than normal and the same for the night turns.

2. The visibility range has been lifted from 180 hexes. Now you can have more. This was due to the addition of the balloon to the Fleurus scenario. I have balloons in one of the Bonus scenarios too.

So there you go ....

And that first image you posted, Scott, is the one I chose for the "cover.bmp" file.

I learned in this game that there were four balloons with each of the French armies. Even Napoleon took one with him into N.Italy though I do not know if he used it much as he was moving so quickly most of the time.

I learned today that Alabama got hit hard with tornadoes. I have not heard from John Tiller since the weekend so he may have power issues. Hoping everything is ok there. So much damage from the weather in the Deep South this year.

Republican Bayonets on the Rhine. The companion to Marengo.

Ken - It is NOT "Rebel Bayonets on the Rappohannock" :russianveryhappy: :frenchlol:

Just in case you thought we were making a game about the French intervening in the ACW ;)

But I have thought about it ;) Would be a fun mod

RBR is Bill's new doctrine for these games:
"Retreat Bill, Retreat!"

The question is not on the topic.
What is the percentage of readiness for the second part of Spain?

I have no clue. The second Peninsular game called "Wellington's Peninsular War" is not a project I am working on. Andrew Bamford and Rich White have that project.
