Napoleonic Wargame Club (NWC)

I just went to try and put a game file into my Campaign Waterloo under the Tiller list, and it's gone!!!!

I have no idea what happened.

I still have the game on my desktop and it loads, but I don't know how to get the file back into the Tiller directory so I can load game files.

can anyone help?

I have no idea where the folder went.

I'm not sure what exactly you did so I'll have to ask some questions:

1) "put a game file" indicates you got the file from your opponent via email or similar. This means it should be still in the email program (maybe the bin) so you should be able to redo your steps again if necessary - correct?

2) Does the game file have the correct file extension? Matching the mode selected in the Selection screen? In the game selection screen you choose "old" or "new" and you have to use "old" for existing files. Then you also choose if it is a PBEM file and that must also be correct to show up in the screen.

3) Assuming you only have a shortcut on the desktop, you can find the real game location in it's properties. As the game loads from the file on the desktop the game itself should be fine. So you should doublecheck if the game file is in there, might also delete the file and download it anew from your email.

Try the Search function, that may find it. I've made the same mistake in the past.

The entire game file is gone in my John Tiller Folder!!!

I still have it on my desktop screen, but there is nowhere to load in emails.

It's weird.

I guess I have to buy it again.

I have no idea why it disappeared.

I'm sure you have just moved it somewhere. Or try the trash folder. No need to rebuy it - hopefully you have the installation exe and code number still.

I found the file and have it working again.

I'm no computer genius folks.

I spent over an hour on the phone yesterday helping a friend install one of the Napoleonic games. He was struggling with where the John Tiller Software folder would end up going ....

So you are not alone, Garrett ...

I was an IT Pro. for over 5 years along with my own PC dinking around at the house .... so PCs sort of come like second nature to me.

Its the new Apps on cell phones that have icons you are supposed to know what they mean without any manual that bothers me

For Club Games: I prefer the Single Phase mode of play. I prefer to play with the following options OFF:
