Gentlemen

You would imagine after playing theses games for so long I would have run out of questions, not so :frenchlol:

My questions concerns Threat Level on a hex
1) Does a threat level apply even if the hex has no line of sight to the enemy cavalry, Infantry and more particular howitzers.
2) If cavalry would become disrupted during a charge or infantry in line meleeing across a hedge does the threat level allow for this.

Disruption during moving with the latest engine changes are an issue so I just want to understand what I am up against :scottishduh:

I'm sure I don't understand it fully. I play with it off, but line movement restriction on. As far as I can see, all my units end up routed or disordered before they even make contact. Supply wagons remain routed for the duration.
There's a thread on the subject:

There's another at the Blitz but the majority of posts there were totally off topic.

Thanks Andy

Hope all the family are bright eyed and busy tailed.

I like it, it brings in a degree of unpredictability. We all have a grouse about aspects of the game but then we complain if its not almost totally predictable.

My question was really how can I position my forces to exert the maximum threat.

The answer is NO. Units do not exert Threat Zones if there is no LOS to the unit. Just checked it out in a test scenario.

For Club Games: I prefer the Single Phase mode of play. I prefer to play with the following options OFF:

MDF, VP4LC, NRO, MTD, CMR, PR, MIM, NDM, OMR (ver 4.07)

Thanks Bill

Final points I assume Howitzers do?

Not sure on that. Suggestion: toss some howitzers into a test scenario and make sure a woods is in between them and the target. I am not sure if they project a Threat Zone due to their indirect fire capability. I hadn't checked guns in my test. Just Cav. vs. Inf.
