Mssrs.,

A combination of factors have led me to the conclusion that the time has come to retire as commander of l'Armee du Nord and give these old bones a rest. Subject to Maréchal Peluso's approval, I will be leaving the reins of, IMHO, the finest army in the NWC in the capable hands of Baron General Chuck Jensen.

I want to thank everyone for their steadfast and loyal support throughout the length of my tenure as CoA, both within La Grande Armee and amongst our noble opponents of the Coalition forces.

Rest assured that I will, nonetheless, remain active upon the field of glory.

Vive l'Empereur!!

Yours, etc.,

Marechal M. Francisco Palomo

Maréchal,

Thank you for all those years! It has been a great pleasure to be under your command.
You will be missed by all of us.[V]

At the same time I am happy to see that you will remain in the Armée du Nord, have you already decided in what corps and division you are going the retire?
In the 11e Division, IIIe Corps maybe?[:D][:o)]

Vive l'Empereur!

Monsieur Le Marechal

Real life does have a way of getting in the way of more important issues.

Your leadership of the AdN was courageous and bold in the service
of his majesty...

Wow! End of an era for sure.

However, I am sure that Chuck will pick up the sword and follow admirably in your footsteps.

Allies - this IS bad news for us as it means that Paco has more time for GAMES and thinking out his strategy against most of you - for me he is waiting for me to step up to level 1 and then he will show me more tricks!

Three cheers for Paco and Chuck.

Monsieur le Maréchal is of course free to seek a billet where he will, and no hard feelings. Still, Maréchal Bardon has blazed the trail: long and honorable service in high command, followed by semi-retirement at the head of of a colorful régiment d'élite in the Ier Corps de Réserve de Cavalerie.

Surely, an old man like Paco would rather ride than walk? [;)]

Thank you for your fine leadership. There are plenty of openings in the II Corp for you to retire too. And we have plenty of horses so our officers don't have to walk...

Mssrs.,

Thank you so much for your kind comments, but you do me too much honor. I have simply done my duty within the limits of my talents.

As to my future posting, I will leave it to Baron Jensen's discretion. Yes, I am known to have a fondness for le beau sabreurs, but there are many younger blades that have patiently waited for such coveted billets and deserve their turn in the limelight. In any case, a posting within the I Cav Reserve is out of the question since it would not do for me to skewer its illustrious commander the next time he corrects my unschooled grammar[:D].
