OK...

If we treat major and minor victories as just victories, who is ahead in battles won

The French or the Allies ?

Well John with the Russians at 208 and the Prussians at 130 for a total of 338 that is just two allied armies who's data was available easily.

Do the French have a central location for that??

The AA's and Austrians would have to be counted by "hand" as far as I could tell.

We're working on our records at the moment, so I can't begin to guess...

I'd say less than the Prussians [:(] but beyond that, I'm not sure.

I think a better metric would be the ng percentage, not total number of wins of an Army. Thus if we use the numbers provided below by Marechal Stone for the French Army and just forget about the draws we have a total of 2390 games played resulting with a victory or loss decison. Of those,1229 resulted in the French winning a major or a minor victory. So it my computation is correct (and that is the biggest risk in the process [:p]) then the French have a winning percentage of 51.4%. Given the numbers for the other Armies we can determine their winning percentages as well. Of course to prevent a major skewing of the result an Army would have to have played a cetain number of games resulting in a non-draw decision to meaningful. Also I think a certain minimum number of playes would need to have participated. Intuitively I would say something on the order of 500 game decisons from at least 15 players would be the minimums. Now who has the data for the other Armies?
