To be included in such august company, a singular honor indeed. Gentlemen, a toast. May you be ever victorious on the field and may the Allies never tire of falling on their swords to avoid your wrath. To la Gloire, la Patrie et notre Empereur! Really, such a pity -- forced to give up your Compte for a Duc. I had a pet duc once. But one evening I had nothing to eat with my bottle of fine red wine (a spoil of war), so I had to cook the duc. Very nice. I don't miss him at all. In fact, I often think back on him rather fondly. Why I remember he would waddle around behind my horse and fluff up his feathers whenever I mentioned the name of Marachel Maunsell (God rest his soul). Actually, it seems quite funny that the Emperor would give M. Maunsell a ducky after he was captured and sent to the English penal colony of Australia. Well, cheers to all the new ducs and princes. May their honorary titles never fade away -- even after being trampled upon by a pair of old and muddy British cavalry boots. [8D][8D][8D] Oh my -- seems that I have confused my ducs with my princes. I suppose I shall never learn. Please pass this note on to the rightful recipients. Duc, duc, duc, duc, GOOSE! FM Sir 'Muddy' Jones, KG 2nd Life Guards, Household Cavalry CO, Cavalry Corps Allied CiC |
