Mssrs.,

At 7:30 AM an avalanche of Russian cavalry swept down upon the cavalry pickets of the <i>Grande Armee's</i> Right Wing, commanded by <i>Maréchal</i> Nowacki, just East of the village of Pumphrey (Twin Peaks scenario). With apparent ease, the Muscovite cavalry brushed aside what they took to be a thin screen of cavalry so as to clear the way for their infantry, force-marching to the front. No sooner had the dust settled from this seemingly irresistible charge, however, when the clarion call of the charge, mixed with shouts of <i>"En avant!"</i>, rang out to the Russian's flank and front: The Muscovites had blundered into an ambush of epic proportions[}:)]. Within 15 minutes the entire Russian 5th Cavalry Dv., 3500 men in all, had been annihilated and its commanders, GMs Berdiaief, Khroutchov & "Phantom", captured[8D]!

Charge your glasses, mssrs., and let us toast to the finest cavalry action this <i>grognard</i> has ever seen!

<i>Vive l'Empereur</i>!
<i>Vive Maréchal</i> Nowacki!!

Regards,

Paco

<i>Maréchal</i> M. Francisco Palomo
<i>Comte de Marseille
Duc d'Abrantes</i>

Thank you, Partner!

My boys did a good job indeed. They just couldn't resist the temptation to charge their flank [:D]

However I'm sure Jeka and Pavel will let us pay for this impudence next turn ... [B)]

Yes, any allied player must watch out for "Tricky Nowicki," the current Master of Europe and the best player I have run into yet (with apologies to Jim Hall), and his cavalry corps.

I personally am looking forward to 1813 and 1814 games where the allied armied have a cavalry advantage. I am going to enjoy watching the French have to change their tactics a bit!

"Polish Murat" - apparently I have nothing to add to this[:)]

Well done Tomasz! Even though you've beaten my fellow officers and good friends, courage and skill must be admired[:I]

Bravo! Having had the pleasure of partnering with Tomasz in the Guards Challenge, I can attest to his skill with cavalry firsthand.

Well done indeed, a feat made all the more impressive by the caliber of the opposition.

Gary,
it is my signature that I have been too lazy to change. I think if you give yourself a signature on one board if you use the same user name in another I think it carried over.

Speaking of the American Civil War, where is my CAmpaign Peninsula file?

You can have a different signature for each forum/club you belong to. Just go to PROFILE in EACH forum ( i.e. ACWGC and the NWC, etc)and make the signature unique.

Paco - I would like to see this gallant charge. Could you send me the game file (and password) so I can look on this wonderful sight?

Sirs,

a great charge, indeed! What a manoeuvre! I counted on counter-attack to come, but not on this scale and level of perfection! [:D]

This sweep left my cavalry in disorder, so only 1500 french sabres fell in a counter-attack, but, fortunately, Jeka keeps russian flag flying high, killing 2200 french cavalrymen (+ some guns) in one swift move on the north!

Time for toast for Eugene Gulyaev now! Urraaaaaaaa!

Such response was inevitable [V]
I just can't wait to get home from work and see the replay!

Anyway, thank you all, Gentlemen! You're too kind...

Dean - good luck fighting the famous Jim Hall.
It'll be a tough nut to crack, but I hope we both will manage to get onto 3.rd round [:)]
