Le Tondu, if there's going to be fatigue for all movement - rather than just moving beyond the 2/3 mark - then we'd also need to have automatic fatigue recovery for units that rest for a turn.

Also fatigue recovery ought to become more rational and standardized - I've sometimes noticed one unit recover say just 7 points, while another with a similar level of fatigue recovers 25pts and a third 60pts or more. Instead, there should be a fixed amount of fatigue recovery depending on whether the unit's currently low (say 40pts), medium (perhaps 20pts) or highly fatigued (10pts or 5pts if max fatigue).
Bill, I'd recommend looking back at how Age of Rifles handles movement & fatigue before bringing this subject to John's attention.

Apart from the issue of movement & fatigue, this old (1996) also has a number of other useful features that could be incorporated into the HPS engine - for instance, more formations (eg. march & attack columns, etc), dragoon type cavalry, troops trampling down corn fields and guns battering village hexes into rubble, etc.

"This is just discussion at this point and its not something I have sent off to John. Got too many things off to him at this point as it stands."

Rich - I really didnt indicate that I would be sending off ANY idea at all to John on this issue.

I will leave this to anyone else that wishes to do so as I have a few other things that I would prefer to see addressed first.
