Clubguys,
Ever since NWC instated a paypal "donate" button
we have no information about how much money was donated.
Could it be possible to make that information public ?

To be honest, I did not donate. I would if I found some transparency there.
Also, I think it would be fair for HPS to donate to the club, as it is used for testing HPS products, advertizing, electing a club president, etc.

HPS has no official involvement with this club in any way shape or form. Just because people who purchase the products choose to congregate here, and some of us scenario designers are members does not mean HPS as a company supports it. And for the record, a scenario designer is not an employee of HPS Simulations, but simply a contractor who sub-contracts to John Tiller to make a single game title, and this is handled on a per-title basis.

And for the record, I did donate, a couple of times I believe, since Alex put those buttons up. [:)]

Alex allows us (various clubs) to use his site for the message boards AND to house some club websites. He is a private individual.

I have contributed a couple of times and will do so, again.

I have no desire to ask him how much has been contributed.

Therefore,
I received very clear answers from individual donating money.
HPS answer under Rich Hamilton's voice is very ambiguous.
And overall, another question is raised :
what is the money needed for ?

No offense Rich but when HPS placed the Ad for this club in Campaign Waterloo I think that is choosing to at least quasi-endorse the club over other clubs out there, even if not officially. Just a note, not meant to be taken the wrong way. [:)]

The donation button is for Alex Cuva who is the person behind the scenes supporting these boards, ie hosting them on servers. He has done so since 1997 for free when I asked him to host the ACWGC. It was on bravenet at the time with the adds and popups. He has the International wargame club were I joined and met him way back then 96-97. This was before the ACWGC.

When I worked with Steven Peluso to start the NWC, Alex created this board at my request. I started hosting some of the NWC pages on the wargame.ch server as well. I have been using it since 1997 for the clubs. Alex helped the sister clubs as well and many still use his services.

The boards do need fixes at times and he uses the money, whatever amount there is, to help him keep the board up on the servers. These boards are a voluntary contribution by him for the clubs. I hope that this better explains the purpose and the situation.

I concur with Sellick. I too donated a while back. It was a small token of my appreciation to whoever has provided this forum that has enabled me to interact with many fine people from all over the world whom I would otherwise not have 'met'. In fact it's probably time that I stumped up again.

I have no interest in who has, who hasn't, nor how much has been donated. And I certainly don't wish to know what the funds have been spent on[:I]

I always donate when requested by someone posting a message. So someone please let us know when additional funds are needed and I will donate again.
