The sounds of cannonfire and musketry cease. The smoke begins to clear. The wreckage of war scars the landscape. The vanquished lie scattered across the bloodied ground. The victors stand among the fallen. Counted among the standing are:

Bill Peterson (french) def. Jon Thayer (allied) east of Abensberg
Eugene Gulyaev (french) def. Phillip Chimara (allied) near Abensberg
Doug Fuller (french) def. Tim Goodwin (allied) near Abensberg
Gabriel Rodriguez (austrian) def. Yann Lamezec (french) at Abensberg
Bruce Hall (austrian) def. Pavel Stafa (french) at Abensberg
Konstantin Koryakov (austrian) def. Yves Michel (french) at Abensberg
Jim Hall (french) def. Tomasz Nowacki (austrian) near Abensberg

Only one game outstanding...

Three cheers for the victors and the vanquished!

As Eugene calls for a brief, let me tell you the end of the battle.

At turn 17, the ratio was in fact of 2/1 for the French in this part of the battlefield. At this time the French plan worked very well. I choose to take the 300 points objectives in the center to secure a major victory.I made some deception : one in the south with one division and some cavalry.Austrian have some troops here that I fixed with success. Austrians have also troops in the North to block an other deception. So at this turn 17,I have a good ratio of 2/1 in the center.
More I hope to engage these troops in the center as last reserve. I hope that North's area troops would be able to fix some Austrians troops or if not they can engage the center by north at turn 21 or 22.Troops in the south walked quickly after their deception to the center.
So I decided to take advantage of the good ratio in the center. I made a strong attack here. This game will be a major victory or a major defeat !

At turn 17, Gabriel surely thought that the game can be a defeat for him. But, as you know this game will be a major defeat for me. Why ?
The strong attack in the center have some sucess but the french looses are very high. Austrian artillery is well placed and Austrian troops used very well the battlefield. They use particularly the river, ... etc. More, Austrian let the French advance in the center but they well placed their guns behind them. And they shoot very well. In the south Austrians finally understand that they have to go the center quickly. They were help by a good road. Three turns and they were here. In the North, Austrian used very well skirmilsher to delay the french advance.
So, at the end of the battle, objectives in the center was take but not secure and the looses gave the victory to Austrians. Troops in the north have one turn of delay.
Well, it was a very good lesson of defensive by Gabriel. More than the strong attack, I had some opportunities that I did not take in this game. For example, Gabriel tried to pass by the forest to make a surprise to me. I can see this because of the replay (some Austrians troops disapeared in the forest) and I knew that. I choose to block these troops. In fact, it will be better to let them go a little more and to destroy its. More, Gabriel made a very intelligent counter attack : I took some risk to place my guns not far the action. He launched a little cavalry attack using very well the MOE3's home rules and destroy a part of them.More his knowledge of the HPS's engine is better than me in some details.

To be brief, the best officers won the battle butI learnt a lot in this game. So, I am waiting for anxiously MOE4 and my next battle against him. I thanks Gabriel for this good battle.

Hope this brief will be interesting to read and that my bad english is understable.I am waiting for the Gabriel's brief.[;)]

A very good summary Yann, I only can add that when I saw all you troops concentrate in the north, the best strategy was to change to the strategy of Kutusov in the campaign of 1812, to move back, to kick and move back again. Thank you very much for you good efforts, you play very well.[:D][:D][:D] Thanks Jeka, prepare you sword.[;)][;)][;)]
