Anyone here using an FTP client under winblows XP ?

I need help with something !!!

Hi John.

I am using CuteFTP for my web page at the Panzer Club,And i am using Windows XP Pro.

Try as I might I cannot get any FTP client to work witholuout turning off the win XP firewall.

I have the client set up in the exceptions list and i am fully patched !!!

This is a way how operating system prevents unauthorized access to your computer. Therefore, you should have firewall turned on, but you also need to define exceptions for it. If your FTP client is not listed among these exceptions you should add it.

Afdter some digging around on the web I discovered the truble:

I had to turn off Application Layer Gateway Services

Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Services before it would work.
