Vive l'Empereur!!!

Vive l'Empereur!!!

A toast to the brave French of Austerlitz! We owe much to them for their sacrifices and courage expressed in their marvelous and glorious feat of arms 200 years ago today!

The Sun of Austerlitz shined its light for the whole world to see that the decrepit ancien regime was nothing more than a sad anachronism.

The next dozen rounds are on me!

Vive l'Empereur!!!

Vive l'Empereur!!!

13 years and hundreds of thousands of dead later the sad anachronism returned. Austerlitz merely replaced one form of despotism with another. I doubt the wounded and maimed saw the battlefield as glorious.

A toast to ALL of the soldiers that fought on the fields of Austerlitz - French and poorly led Allies as well.

Typical pro-French rhetoric ....[:D]

Also on this day in 1804 Napoleon is crowned Emperor

In Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, Napoleon Bonaparte is crowned Napoleon I, the first Frenchman to hold the title of emperor in a thousand years. Pope Pius VII handed Napoleon the crown that the 35-year-old conqueror of Europe placed on his own head.

Vive l'Empereur!!!
