Hi all,

As an avid podcast listener, and a bit of podcaster myself, I thought I could share with you some of the content that I listen, and some in which I collaborate.

THE NAPOLEONICIST

Made by Zack White, a young historian with great knowledge about the Napoleonic Wars, specially in the Peninsular War. His programs last about an hour, no more than two usually. I recommend his two programs about Napoleon's marshalls in Spain, the program about sir John Beresford and (as Austrian) the battle of Znaim.

THE NAPOLEONIC QUARTERLY

A podcast with great collaborators. In every program Alexander Mikaberidze and Charles Esdaile are present. every program they deal with a quarter of a year between 1792 and 1815. In the first season they've dealt with 1792 and 1793, so no Napoleon yet. But they talk about very interesting topics with assorted guest historians. An interesting look about Poland in those years. Hope that they go on until 1815.

THE AGE OF NAPOLEON

Unlike the other two that are quite new, this one has a long life, dealing with the life of the Emperor of the French. the few programs I've listened sounded great.

And, if you'll allow me some self-promotion....

HISTOCAST

This podcast in Spanish is where I collaborate quite often. Although we deal with many topics of military history, you may enjoy the following programs:

LA BATALLA DE ALBUERA/THE BATTLE OF ALBUERA

LA CABALLERÍA NAPOLEÓNICA

EL EJERCITO ESPAÑOL DE JOSE BONAPARTE, POR L. SORANDO

EL EJERCITO IMPERIAL AUSTRIACO

EL SARGENTO BOURGOGNE Y LA RETIRADA DE MOSCÚ

LA BATALLA DE BORODINO

LAS AVENTURAS DEL HUSAR LASALLE

LA BATALLA DE WATERLOO

GUERRA ANGLOAMERICANA DE 1812

Some are short, some are long as the Waterloo (7 hours and half).

Which ones do you listen?

Thank you for these recommendations! I have recently begun listening to Age of Napoleon myself. Extremely compelling and very detailed. I'm still currently on the early European background history episodes. Was actually on my way here to post about it but saw you beat me to it.

Would anyone by chance happen to know the name of the musical piece used for the introduction and the ending of each episode? I can't get it out of my head and hum it constantly.

I am also listening to the Age of Napoleon Podcast, about a quarter of the way through them, and it’s hard not to be impressed with the amount of research and storytelling this gentleman has provided. Fantastic so far, highly recommended even for people who know a ton about the era and especially for those who want to learn more!

I'll add my support to The Age of Napoleon, as others have said the commitment to producing such a detailed podcast is fantastic. I am also enjoying the Napoleonicist, well put together.

I am also listening to The Redcoat History Podcast, as the name suggests it is focused on the British Army and in particular the Peninsular War, but worth a listen.

Also I have found Napoleon: The Man and the Myths from BBC Radio 4 very good. I found it on Spotify, but I am sure it will be elsewhere
