John,

Go into the Options menu and set it to not hide file extensions. Then you will see the true file names for all files. This should allow you to save the files the way you want without the system adding it's own file extension afterward.

John,

Windows Explorer
Tools menu
Folder Options
View tab

One of the check boxes says "Hide file extensions for known file types" and is checked by default. Uncheak this and all your file extensions will be displayed, which gives you better control of your files, and should resolve the issue you are having.

If you ZIP the files, there would be no problem.

Well, not sure what specifics there are on your system, but you can always rename the file once it is downloaded. I always Zip my games and have never had a problem similar to this. Eudora brings the attachments in and dropps them in my C:\Temp directory ready to go...
