I was hoping to get these files out in the game. They will go in the first update for the game.

Here are the PDF and .oob files that include all of the Austrian units for the period 1795-1800. They are split up into the early and later period. The early period, for instance, saw the Austrian and Hungarian infantry wearing the "casquette" headgear. Later period: helmet.

Note: there are two formats as some may prefer to use Reader to look at this docs. Scenario Designers can go right into the .oob files and grab the unit they need. The files are write protected so you will never have to worry about messing them up.

If for some odd reason you want to edit the .oob files just make a COPY first, remove the read-only attribtute for the COPY and then use the COPY of the files to do as you like. This would be for folks that want to use additional images for the distinct unit colors or for those that want to turn some of the cavalry units into Dragoon types. Etc. If decide to use your updated units just make sure you do not copy them into one of the .oob files that came with the game.

The units are properly numbered per the Units.bmp and 3D image files as per the artwork PDF I included with the game in the Design folder. These files will end up in the Design folder as well.

They are mainly for the Scenario Designer types but also helpful for the artwork mod folks like Philippe Devine and Ed "Volcano Man" Williams. Also for those that just want to know the unit names for the period. In some cases you will find that OBs use a different name for a regiment. Warren Bajan mentioned that this is because the clerks used the Inhaber's name of the current period. Thus the name in some OBs is incorrect.

Hope you guys find these helpful!

Ernie - I really wanted to pass along a lot of Warren's and my research so that it is always available for folks to use. I would like to do the same for all of the other games eventually but for this one - well its still recent in memory. The old "hard drive" aint what it used to be (at 55). Still spins but sometimes spins and spins! :russianveryhappy:
