This thread is intended as a collection of helpful tools in regard to the Napoleonic Wars series(but I guess also all other HPS/JTS games).

AutoHotkey
http://ahkscript.org/
This tool helps to cover the ground where the games do not provide any hotkeys, personally I haven used it till now but I see on a different forum that it seems to be very helpful althought some time has to be invested to maximize its potential.

Gimp
http://www.gimp.org/
This is a free but still highly capable graphic art software for making signatures & avatars in but could be also used for editing screenshots for AARs(After-Action-Reports).

Hardcopy
http://www.hardcopy.de/
Currently my choice for taking screenshots as it allows some nice things like taking just sections of the screen instead of full screen screenshots. It is free but comes with a pop-up message from time to time.

Paint.net
http://www.getpaint.net/
This is another free graphic program, with it the famous Old Banshee graphic mods for the Civil War series were done.

Screenpresso
http://www.screenpresso.com/
This is a helpful tool that lets you easily take screenshots and edit them with various useful additions like arrows, circles, lines, text, speech bubbles, etc. what makes it highly valuable for AARs. Check out their feature video to see what it can do.

So that's it for now, if anyone else has something helpful please post it and I will add it to this post.

Hello everybody,

I Place here my Autokey Script who handle JTS/HPS Game Ren/EAW/NB/CWB to help someone who want to use

Just download the file change passwords if who want to use them (<Passwd Here> must change with your password)

The Script check if the game who is runing is one of HPS/JTS and determine wich group it be owned, use the correct mnemonic for game as HotKeys

the Hotkeys are affected to (window Key) + Keys :

Keys Mapped
Code:
P : password ( in PBEM dialog )
V : Visible Hex
C : Command Hex
O : Organisation
D : Command + Organisation
B : Division Color/Division Color
F : High Fatigue Unit
I : Isolated Unit
W : Victory Dialog
J : Jump Map

² : Help

Just unzip the file somewhere on your disk and after installing AutoHotKey Right Click on .ahk File and select Run Script or Compile Script

If you compile it, a .exe is generated so start here

I give this here as is, and can't be resposible for bad use

The Script is a text file and be look to understand or modify it.

Regards From France

Cheers

remember to change <Passwd Here> before using if you want yo use it

Although a single file might work for all the various series I advise to check what hotkeys come with each game series as they differ from series to series, besides that depending on the game series you might need keys in one series that are useless in a other series.

Hello,

The keys I put in my script are the function I use in each game so I centralisé in only one script That I published here
Maybe some other function are needed in single game but don't be in this script
