Liebertwolkwitz was fought on the 14th of October - one of the largest clashes of cavalry in the Napoleonic Wars.

Leipzig began on the 16th, took a break due to weather on the 17th (with minor fighting) and continued on the 18th through to the 19th. The largest land battle in Europe until WW1.

It still amazes me that this battle (Leipzig) has had so little book coverage. Digby Smith's book leaves one wanting for more. Nafziger's 3rd volume is good but so much more could be included.

A two volume set on the battle is not totally out of the question. There is so much fighting to cover!

>Hey, uh.. Marmont you should like break your battalions down into two rank lines man. You'll look really swole and that third rank is useless anyway.
>>Y-y-yes Senpai
entire corps gets slaughtered
>You actually fell for that old trick?
>>Muh two rank lines

Osprey's Campaign 25 is probably the best thing they ever published. That pervert Hofschroer really gets deep into the operational details. Pretty maps and pictures as well. ;]

Hi Guys,

I was a spectator on the bicentenary of the battle of Leipzig in 2013 in Leipzig, Germany. Exactly, on the battlefield of the Wachau, on October 16, 1813, the most important battle of Napoleon. :frenchcharge:

Historical words:

...These movements were watched from the tower of the Leipzig church of St. Thomas, court counselor Dr. med. Baumann and certain a Polish colonel. As reported by Baumann, the Polish officer said at one point: "Think, Sir, when these masses develop, Napoleon will break Allied lines. They are lost." :sly:
