Three new Napoleonic Battles Series updates are available from the JTS website for the following games:

Campaign Austerlitz
Campaign Eylau-Friedland
Campaign Leipzig

Get them here:

http://johntillersoftware.com/Updates.html

Additionally the painted maps for Campaign Leipzig are available. A HUGE collection of painted map files were created to include one for the major battles of Dresden and Leipzig. I was surprised to see some of the large "area maps of Saxony" I made by merging several maps together included in this set. The new "Maps" sub-folder, a new folder where they are extracted to, has a total of 24GB worth of painted map files.

The Leipzig painted maps are a huge download and also to extract to the game from the zip file (12GB). Have a beverage handy ;) .... and your favorite sports program on as well!

I hope that someday a set can be made for Campaign Marengo or RBR as these two games have the most detailed maps in the series.

Findings for the Campaign Leipzig Update:

1. At one point I had Cezary Pluskwa update all of the Silesian maps with more detail. The maps in the Leipzig folder that have "CP_" at the beginning are the updated map files. The files that were replaced were left in place. The map file reference in the .scn files was changed to use the "CP_" map file name.

Thus the painted maps that Frank Mullins created were for the older Silesian maps and none of the "CP_" map files (about 4) were covered. This hopefully will be covered eventually in a future update.

So if you go to load "The Battle of Katzbach" you will NOT see the painted map for that battle because it now uses the newer CP_ map file that replaced the older one. This applies to Lowenberg, Goldberg and one other of the Silesian maps.

2. I was not able to open up scenario #072 Battle of Leipzig with the initial view set to 3D because my old Dell slimcase Optiplex system lacks the graphics ability to load the large amounts of 3D images needed for the many units in the OB file for the scenario. Otherwise if I change the setting so that the 2D view is the initial view it opened fine. I was able to create a test scenario using the large Leipzig map and then open it and check out the painted map. Looked fine.

So just a couple of notes on the Leipzig update that I thought that you would find helpful.

Did the Austerlitz and Eylau updates. No discrepancies noted other than in two of the layout scenarios for Austerlitz the French Light cavalry division commander of the army Cavalry Reserve was located at the end of one of the Dragoon brigades. Was moved up to the head of its division. Files sent off to Rich H.
