HPS does seem to be dragging their feet on releasing though. . . It is more a matter of a shift in JTS policy; per Rich Hamilton on the Blitz (under a France '14 topic), JTS is not going to provide updated patches to HPS any longer, instead opting only to have the one version.). I know that I had a...

By not using ADF are you not losing the ability for your units on defense to fire multiple times as enemy units advance on your position or cross within in range or LOS? By not using ADF its possible for enemy troops to advance on you across open ground and end the turn in covered terrain or even o...

Most of this could be "fixed" through the scenario editor. The problem is getting agreement on how much ammo is the correct amount. Give to much and managing ammo disappears so you just as well eliminate it. That said, my opinion is ammo isn't the problem, it's the ability to manage ammo t...

Check the properties of the short cut you use to run it and the executable file to see if they have been set to compatibility mode with a low resolution screen. It sounds like the game is for some reason running in one of the old monitor resolution modes.

The problem with Fatigue is that it has been expanded to represent combat and normal just doing to much fatigue. One recovers easily with just a nap while the other is trauma from losing to may friends. It is also used by night rules to force players to not do things like night fighting and marching...

Go to your Control Panel then Apps. See if HPS Gettysburg is listed there. If so uninstall it. If not, go to your CD and see if you can find the uninstall script there and run it. Usually when it won't run setup it thinks you have already installed the game. If you can't get one of the uninstall scr...

A forum could be set up like the ones here which are probably relatively low cost. But one of the reasons for having a web site was that you need something capable of hosting the files that need to be downloaded and uploaded (in the case of people doing graphic work). The main game requires a 200 MB...

Here is a screen shot showing the program interface as well as a section of the Devil's Den scenario with the starting positions of Hood's Division along the Emmetsburg Road. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f13/KennonWhitehead/ScreenShot%20Devils%20Den_zpsoiuxmhaa.jpg This time the map is zoomed o...

I would like to see ammo as a number in the OOB file so units use and run out based on the individual unit supply and not a random percentage. I would also like to add engineering units to create or repair rail lines. I would also like the ability to create a low level water unit and a naval or sea...

I think the basic systems we have in place for the club work well other than the Union Army of Tennessee needs to change its name to Army of Losers or something so the army I am in can be the AoT. The Club would probably benefit from implementing some of the ideas that have been presented ...

Test to see if I can find a way to display a screen shot. Got a link to photobucket to work. This is a screen shot of the Union positions just before their first advance into the cornfield at Antietam. Because of the cornfields the union troops have no visual sightings of enemy formations on the oth...

What about ⋅ Command & Control? ⋅ Random factors (apart from combat results)? Command & Control is one of the main areas I have not developed. Right now the Player has to issue orders directly to each regiment. There is no C&C but the HQ's for it are on the map. This...

The game itself, which I refer to as CWE for Civil War Engine, is already written. It is in the debugging stage which is very tedious. Since all the code is in the free version of Visual Studio 2015, anyone could take a copy and debug a section of it. The coding itself is in Visual Basic which is a ...

I am throwing this out there to see how much interest there would be in undertaking such a project. I have worked on and off on a game engine that has a more detail handling of regimental size units and Civil War combat in general. However, I realized in doing this that I don't have the time to take...
