Hard to believe most players are playing the AI. HPS has one of the worse AI's in their games I have ever seen. AI seems to be added to these games as an after thought. Maybe we need to find a way to reach out to those playing the game that way and tell them there is a better way to play the games. ...

Gen. Wister you gave some good ideas. Some though require a lot more commitment and technical savvy than people here are willing to commit. Your time line is a little off. The MMORPG acronym was coined in 1995 at E3. It was followed by the release of Ultima Online in Sept of 1997 and we lost a gener...

On ADF - I agree but doubling the length of games will make any battle lasting more than one day almost unplayable with all the extra emailings. Having ADF on to speed up turnaround is a sacrifice the Rebs have to make to keep the games playable within our life times. High Fatigue Recover Rate howev...

I like a few different settings for these reasons: Manual Defense Fire ON but with Automated Defense Fire also ON. This gives you what I consider the more realistic Civil War combat without slowing down PBEM. The computer resolves the defensive fire phase fire. While it may not pick there targets we...

Bite the bullet and go for a new horse. The old horses are all destined for the glue factory.

All Windows systems after 7 enforced a new security procedure for all apps using the "Program Files" folder which is usually the default spot for installs. The files are protected so you can't access them. The best solution is to uninstall the games and reinstall in a user created folder (...

I think that the doubters have strong points. We are a niche group (turn based games) in a niche market (Civil War Games). Two things come to mind- (1) what is the experience for our members? Are we finding opponents? Are we getting answers to our game mechanics and history questions? Are our membe...

Unfortunately we are in a downward spiral. Fewer players each year means less demand for new games and to little return if any for game developers. So our games get older and our players too. The Brother Against Brother web site hasn't had but about a dozen posts this year. Everyone is waiting for t...

I believe there is some type of moral check so defensive fire is a 100% chance of happening. I think they made the same assumption as in Opportunity Fire that because there will be multiple attempts to fire the unit shouldn't be able to fire at every one of them. For example, if you are attempting t...

So far I haven't seen the problems on my Windows 10 install which I have been using since September of last year. However, I did do a clean install which removes any trace of older versions of Windows.

This use to be an issue only if the games were installed in the default "Program Files" area. Is this now happening on games stored in user created folders as well?
