Hi, What you can do is copy the file in the campaign area and paste it in the game area. One of the Martinsburg scenarios is 3-44, but there may be a couple others. Essentially, you can copy any scenario in the campaign folder and paste it in the main area, and play it as a stand alone game, but I t... |

Everyone has made good points. There are so many variables. I think you will find a lot of the changes in the games designed by Rich Walker, which by now is most of them. I think Rich is constantly trying to improve the product. I know he is accessible and amenable to suggestion, and is responsible ... |

Thanks, that did the trick!
I don't know why HPS ever got away from colored icons. I know it doesn't affect game play, but I really think it does affect game enjoyment to some degree.

One little problem though. I downloaded the units file for Chancellorsville and opened the May 3pm scenario. The unit graphics are very nice, but don't match up to the proper type units, i.e., Confederate infantry units represented by Union artillery icons in some cases. What have I done wrong? MG M... |

Hi, General, The single most important function of skirmishers is to delay the enemy, particularly with the +3 terrain cost. In the woods, you can limit the enemy infantry to 1 hex/turn. In the open, you can prevent enemy units up to five hexes away from closing with you. This is especially useful i... |

Hi, Ken,
Thanks for the pictures. You can also see the dispersal of the artillery battery in a couple of the pictures. You can't put twenty guns in a 120 yd hex and expect them to be able to function properly.

Hi, Lieutenant, I think each game has its pros and cons. Like Dale says, if you like small battles and the trans-Mississsippi, Ozark is a good game. If you like a lot of musket-armed units, Shiloh, Peninsula and Bull Run provide them, as well as Ozark. If you want large battles, you already have two... |

Last ACW book I read was on the Vicksburg Campaign and was written by Winston(?) Groom, the fellow who wrote Forrest Gump. I detected a fair number of inaccuracies and probably missed many more, but I think Groom did a pretty good job of tying the whole thing together from the start of the war throu... |
