Hi, I would like to challenge anyone to any stand alone scenario for any HPS game. I usually get out one turn per day, unless I'm OOT. I don't play house rules, but I also don't try to be gamey. I fire whole stacks and I prefer single turn games, but I will try either game mode. I'm registered as a ...

Assuming your playing FOW, all you can see (if adjacent)is the quality, name of unit, strength rounded to nearest 100 level (For ex: 1XX, etc..) You cannot see FA level. If more then 1 hex away, Unit name becomes unknown. Lt. Col. Richard Walker I Corps Army of the Mississippi 2nd Brigade, 3rd Divis...

I believe the reason captured/destroyed units return to original owner with a value of one is because the program cannot eliminate units already placed in a future scenario. As a result, they are represented with the lowest possible number. So if the 1st New York Battery L is captured/destroyed in t...

Yes, I am certain. If an arty unit is captured (is occupied at games end) it will return to the original owner with a value of one. However, if there is an error in the mapping org file, this result may not happen. Lt. Col. Richard Walker I Corps Army of the Mississippi 2nd Brigade, 3rd Division "De...

Bill,

Perhaps this thread is misunderstood. These are not proposed rules. The first post is simply an explanation of how artillery is treated in a campaign.

So what to do in a campaign? 1) If points won in the current battle will favorably end the campaign prior to it's ultimate end, be sure to occupy all captured/spiked artillery. 2) If the game is destined to carryover to the next battle of the campaign, occupy or destroy the enemy arty by any means a...

1) Destroyed unit returns with a value of one to the original owner 2) Spiked arty that is left abandoned will return at full strength to original owner 3) Captured/occupied artillery will return with a value of one to the original owner 4) Uncrewed/abandoned arty will return as normal to original o...

Hi Kennon, et al Just so we're clear; 1) You still get VPs for destroying guns. 2) You do not get points for destroying abandoned guns. 3) The occupation of captured/spiked guns is a programming issue and at present there is no time to resolve it. 4) I will soon try to resolve the campaign carryover...

One more thing, The issue of independent artillery crews and unoccupied arty ownership for the capturing side is still on the table, but for the moment requires programming time that is not available. So we are trying to make due with what we have. Lt. Col. Richard Walker I Corps Army of the Mississ...

As I mentioned, let's for the moment keep the Campaign feature out of this discussion. I'm trying to ascertain the impact for campaign games, which for the moment is not complete. So this new upgrade will: 1) No longer award points to the capturing side for captured guns destroyed during counter-bat...

Hi, I am saying the next title and future patches will not award points for the destruction of abandoned arty (Uncrewed or spiked). Also points will not be awarded for the destruction of guns captured by the enemy. Points will still be awarded for occupied captured and spiked guns. I haven't tested ...
