One of my sacred luxuries in life is a very large computer screen. It's helps to 'map things out' in games when you can see several miles of hexes . . . Also makes stock and banking chores easier, when many windows can be open at once and you can watch them interact. Compared to a pad or laptop, scr... |

The "Opponents Wanted" listings are a pendulum. It wasn't that long ago that all the Rebs were wondering where all the Yanks were. Now the shoe's on the other foot. Things'll even out eventually. They always do. |

Hard to compare a cavalry commander to the commander of a corps or army. Stonewall won major battles; Forrest excelled in matters a scale or so down from that . . . Both 'took it to'em' |

Congratulations, Pierre. I'm glad you won.
Although I would have voted for you anyway, I suppose the vitriolic emails swayed a few votes your way. I hope those authors remember that backlash can play a part, in future elections. |

The Yanks are outnumbered more than three to one, and are completely surrounded . . .
Why should anyone take up your gauntlet under those circumstances--? |

It can vary per disk; sometimes within a disk, such as the Gettysburg title. I have seen artillery cannons valued from 20 points up to 60 points. Cavalry troopers are generally rated at 80 percent, but I have seen them valued up to 160 percent. [i.e. 100 cav casualties gives 80 points; 100 casualtie... |

To my various ancestors who rode for the C.S.A. . . . To my grandfather, who claimed he was the luckiest doughboy in WWI, for arriving at the front trenches the morning of November 11, 1918. To my father, who arrived at Pearl Harbor on December 9th, 1941, and who was later the sole survivor of a pla... |

It has been quite a length of time since a new ACW title has been released by either HPS and/or Tiller's software group. This is especially intense since it doesn't take too much imagination to realize that the Shenandoah campaigns, and the 1864 Overland Campaign are the main remaining subjects out ... |

Perhaps, like so many generals during the war, they're less interested in winning than they are in not losing. On the other hand, many players resist playing "phases" style----until they see how much better the defensive firing plays out. Gee, look at me. Giving Rebs excuses. Like they've ... |

This book is for those who come to it without prior knowledge of the events in question. There's not much new in it for the historically read person . . . No offense to Bill O'Reilly. I like him and I've read all his other books. But this book is "pop history" at best. |
