Ooooh! ...We're stuck on a draw presently at turn 30 of 90. Now I know there's something to play for. John, will you pay for a first class ticket across the Atlantic so I can come and celebrate in style?

The first thing I noticed the moment I played a scenario on my recently acquired HPS Chancellorsville was that the Cavalry had "lost" 4 movement points, dropping from the "standard" 24 down to 20. Designer preference? In games like these is such a variance to be welcomed? It might seem a minor conce...

I've never been able to get a feel for using skirmishers properly in games. Are there any members here who have perfected the "art" of in-game skirmisher tactics? For every benefit to using them there seems to be an equal penalty. I try to avoid their use. Personally, I dislike the penalty of extra ...

Yes, I know. It's been covered enough in the past, but really, it just is too much to bear: Turn #73/100 of a perversely tricky custom scenario on HPS Gettysburg called "Longstreets foot Cavalry". Fair enough, my opponent HAS played a very clever game and I, it must be said, have turned in a shockin...

It's very true. A couple of times I have planned to post queries about specific situations in various scenarios to ask advice and opinions...but find the tavern is empty and appears rarely used. Has club membership fallen in recent months/years? How many members are active compared to previous histo...

They're here...they're here! [:D] The postman has just squeezed them through the letterbox. Installing now...patches all pre-downloaded and ready to go. Additional music files as per my usual set-up...'Tweak' all the graphics to get them looking just how I like them to look (If I can remember what g...

D'oh! [:I] Yes, thank-you Gen. Barlow. It was right there in front of me in the help file under the settings menu description. Smooth scroll is the reponsible factor. It seems I have a right mix of settings across my various games: A number of combinations of Alternative scrolling on/off, Smooth scr...

I have noticed recently that when a game file is opened from the selection screen, sometimes the map view scrolls to the centred hot-spot from the map edge...and sometimes it 'jumps' immediately to the hot spot. Does anyone understand how this is determined and if the setting can be changed? My syst...

Despite my frequent moaning that would suggest the opposite [:(!]...I AM a great fan of these games we play and despite any misgivings, it HAS been my intention to eventually get hold of all the games (Well, not ALL the HPS titles [:0]...just the ACW campaign ones!) and today I finally ordered the l...

I am looking for a Reb to play one of the HPS Antietam "Hagerstown march" scenarios. There are a number of variants of this scenario on the disk, I was proposing the basic standard variant but am willing to give any a go if you have a preference. It's a big map with room for maneuver and ambitious p...

Excellent General Mullins. Just specify which of the two remaining Union commands you wish to take? Heintzlemans is slightly larger...but Hunter gets the only Union Cavalry available...
