I guess check with each opponent before commencing a new game. I still zip files out of habit. I have had files that have had errors or got corrupted but it is usually possible to figure the problem and resolve it. I find an un-zipped file takes slightly longer to upload/download (say 5-6 seconds co...

I have experienced the exact same problem that Gen. Mihalik mentioned in a game I have going with Gen. Paul Kenney. We are nearing the end of HPS Atlanta 062 "Battles for the Kennesaw line" (102 turns) We had been both running version 1.02 but I had to re-install all my programs/games etc on my new ...

Playing a single scenario on HPS Atlanta. One of the 'Battles for the Kennesaw line' variants: 062 Kennesaw June 20 Chase V.1 scn. Great fun so far and a challenge for both sides it seems. A 2 day battle (102 turns), the first day is drawing to a close after spending most of it marching and a clash ...

Gentlemen, the HPS ACW series now stands at a total of 11 titles. Of these I currently own 8 and I had planned, though not particularly urgently, to buy another 2 simply to complete my collection. With the release of the latest I now have the choice to add yet another title to the list. Question: Do...

When I first read this post I was all set to smash open the piggy-bank and order the game from NWS, but on reflection I think I shall exercise some caution and wait to see how positive the reception is. I've tried the custom scenarios of Fredericksburg & Chancellorsville on both HPS Corinth and the ...

I think it has to be 'B'. Kennon has a point about the game engines limitations but the game mechanics are only exploited/abused/controlled by a human players input. I think this is 'proved' by the advent of the campaign game system. Player behaviour in a campaign is much altered by the risk and eff...

I would like the system changed so that it is not possible to achieve a crew kill on Artillery by using ranged Infantry fire. A Battery of 4 Napoleons in my front line stacked with 750 friendly Infantry for a grand stack of 950 men total...and my enemy's automated defensive fire gets a crew kill at ...

Meade is a strange one...almost a case of George who? He commands the victorious side in one of the greatest battles ever fought but he's not actually present for a large part (possibly the most important part) of the engagement. How many outside this club and not students of military history would ...

I have a big HPS Chickamauga battle going on where I have managed to isolate a large Reb force against the creek. A number of captured Reb guns are now behind my line and each new turn...a bunch of Reb Colonel Anonymous' are 'spawning' on the un-crewed guns in my rear! 6 officers last turn. Of cours...
